When does Thursday Night at the Rite take place?
Thursday Night at the Rite operates on a seasonal schedule. Each season showcases 6-7 degrees every other Thursday evening.
Who is invited to Join the Rite Night?
Candidates approved for membership may witness the requisite 4° and join the Scottish Rite through this convenient virtual opportunity. Current members are also invited to participate in Join the Rite Night to revisit the 4° and welcome their new Brothers into the fraternity.

To become eligible to attend a Join the Rite Night, your membership application must have been submitted and approved by your local Valley. Click here to apply for membership if you have not yet done so.
Who is invited to Thursday Night at the Rite?
All members of the Scottish Rite, NMJ are invited to attend Thursday Night at the Rite. Candidates who become initiated into our fraternity through a Join the Rite Night are immediately eligible to view the degrees presented in that evening’s Thursday Night at the Rite broadcast and all episodes thereafter.
Who is invited to attend Masters of the Rite?
Masters of the Rite is an interactive degree enrichment experience open to all Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction (NMJ) members.

If you are a Master Mason but not yet a Scottish Rite, NMJ member and would like to participate, apply here to join our Brotherhood today.

Once your application has been accepted, witness the 4° online at Join the Rite Night to officially become a Scottish Rite Mason and gain access to all member programs, including Masters of the Rite.
How long is each presentation?
Each Join the Rite Night presentation is 30 minutes long and takes place immediately prior to Thursday Night at the Rite.

Thursday Night at the Rite presentations typically last between 40 to 60 minutes, which includes discussion.

Masters of the Rite is a 45-minute online workshop.
Can I invite non-Scottish Rite Masons to Thursday Night at the Rite?
In order to keep the degrees secure, only members of the Scottish Rite, NMJ may attend Thursday Night at the Rite.
If I join the Scottish Rite through a Join the Rite Night, am I able to also participate in that same evening’s Thursday Night at the Rite degree presentation?
Yes! All candidates who witness the 4° during a Join the Rite Night will be initiated into our fraternity and immediately eligible to enjoy all of the benefits available to members, including Thursday Night at the Rite. We highly encourage new members to stay online immediately after Join the Rite Night for that evening’s degree presentation.
What can I expect at a Thursday Night at the Rite?
When you log in and join us for Thursday Night at the Rite, you’ll first witness one of our cinematic degree videos, most often featuring Brethren from Scottish Rite, NMJ Valleys. Following the degree, various programming delves into the teachings and philosophy of each degree and how they connect the six Scottish Rite Core Values.
What can I expect during Masters of the Rite?
Masters of the Rite is an interactive, 45-minute workshop where Brothers from across the jurisdiction will gather online to engage in a group workshop focused on a degree broadcasted during the current season of Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR).

Led by Ill. Brother William "Sandy" Karstens, 33°, each session promises an enriching experience that strengthens your connection to the Craft and to your Brothers.
Are degrees witnessed through a Join the Rite Night/Thursday Night at the Rite eligible for passport credit?
Yes. Members may get passport credit for the 4° shown during Join the Rite Night and for the degrees shown during Thursday Night at the Rite. After each event, you can update your degree history by logging onto MyNMJ.org and clicking “My Degree History.” The next time you visit your Valley, stop by the Secretary’s desk for the stamp of that degree for your passport.

What's the Difference Between Join the Rite Night, Thursday Night at the Rite, and Masters of the Rite?
Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR) is the Scottish Rite NMJ's seasonal online degree broadcast program. During TNR, members gather online to witness inspiring degree presentations by Valleys from across the jurisdiction and engage in fraternal fellowship.

Join the Rite Night (JTRN), is the Scottish Rite NMJ’s signature online joining program occurring 30 minutes before every TNR presentation. At JTRN, candidates can witness the 4°, Builder, and officially become a Scottish Rite Mason.

Masters of the Rite (MOTR) is a seasonal degree enrichment program that coincides with the TNR season. A virtual live workshop, led by Illustrious Brother William “Sandy” Karstens, 33°, MOTR allows for thoughtful discussion and fellowship amongst Brothers on degrees presented at TNR.

How do I view the Join the Rite Night, Thursday Night at the Rite, and Masters of the Rite presentations?
You can view both Join the Rite Night, Thursday Night at the Rite, and Masters of the Rite presentations at https://tnr.scottishritenmj.org. Visit this website promptly 5-10 minutes before the start of your event to tune in.

You will be asked to verify your membership status with your member ID in order to witness that evening’s event.

Current members wishing to attend a Join the Rite Night may do so by visiting the Thursday Night at the Rite website at the event start time.
